Fall 2011 news

In September, Jim Scott presented his plans to apply for a grant from the UUA to support and expand his musical composition efforts, with First Unitarian Church to serve as his host church. Restoration of Todd Wetzel's lapsed membership was approved. The Director of Faith Development Ministries Jessica Gray reported that Lesa McWalters had been selected from among the applicants for the new Youth Coordinator position, to begin working before the 1st of October. In October, Prudential Committee gave the go-ahead for Jessica Gray to develop her Hogwarts Summer Camp plans for July 2012. Two new Task Forces were also composed and charged, as follows:

Caring Community Task Force - Diane Mirick, Chair; with Paul Belanger, David Blodgett, Diane Pingeton, Lee Reid, Vivian Shortreed, and Linda Wyatt; will gather and evaluate input with an aim to present their recommendations on structures to support parish services and pastoral care ministries to Pru Comm by March 2012.

Building <=> Vision Task Force - Lee Bona, Chair; with David Gendler, Michael Keating, Marcia Leonard, Bob Shaw, Susan (Carpenter) Spencer, and Rob Yauckoes; will gather and evaluate input with an aim to present their recommendations on prioritized capital needs and ways of modifying existing infrastructure to better serve the church's Vision for 2015 and beyond, to Pru Comm by April 2012.

In November, five new members were approved: Michael Gillis, Melanie and Stephen Robinson, and Javier and Melanie Salort.
