This month, we harvested what may be an all-time bumper crop of new members seeking approval to sign the membership book. Kristina and Louis Baez, Marguerite Boone, Mark Deshaies, Susan and Jennifer Doiron-Schiavone, Brenna Ewing and Lars Nordin, Peggy Manoogian, Victoriahope McAuliffe, Katherine Waterhouse, and Julie and Cory White were all so approved.
Positive news of progress on the search committee front relieved PruComm members of their major anticipated concern for the spring. Extremely preliminary estimates of the costs of steeple painting and repair from the Building and Grounds committee gave us a new substantial matter to worry about.
Finally, in the only other actionable decision item for this month, all three proposed local charities were accepted to receive equal portions of the May 29 designated plate collection: The Regional Environmental Council, the Worcester Refugee Assistance Program, and Veterans, Inc. Provision will be made for on-line contributions to this "local charities collection" throughout the month of May, for those who may not be able to attend the Sunday service of memorial day weekend.
