Only the congregation can call our 12th settled minister. We have scheduled many different kinds of events so please find the ones you'd like to attend. Ministers want to receive an overwhelming and supportive call, so please take part in Candidating Week so you can make an informed decision.
Here is the schedule of events during Candidating Week. There will be sign-ups in the Bancroft Room to get a rough count of how many people to expect for each event. Even if you don't sign up, you are welcome to attend.
Sarah has many other meetings with committees and staff that do not appear on this calendar. Those committees will be contacted individually to notify them of the schedule.
Saturday April 26
- 5:00 - 7:30 PM - Church Reception for Rev. Stewart, in the Bancroft & Dining Rooms
We will provide light fare, finger foods and beverages. Drop in for as long or as short as you like and welcome Rev. Sarah Stewart. Bring the kids, it's movie night! Childcare will be provided.
- 10:30 AM - Sunday Worship Service, in the Sanctuary
- 11:30 AM - Church Lunch, in the Bancroft & Dining Rooms
Our youth groups will be preparing a spaghetti fundraiser lunch in support of their mission trip to the Unitarian Universalist Church of Spartanburg, South Carolina. - 12:30 PM - Informal Q&A with Rev. Stewart, in Unity Hall
Participants will write questions on index cards to enable Rev. Stewart to gather common topics for discussion. Childcare will be available.
- 12:00 Noon - Brown Bag Lunch at the Church, in the Dining Room
Bring your lunch and join the staff and Rev. Stewart for an informal lunch at the church. - 6:30 PM - Monday Night at the Church Dinner, in the Dining Room
- 7:15 PM - Adult Program lead by Rev. Stewart, in the Chapel
Come to a creative and spiritual evening to share your connection to First Unitarian with Rev. Sarah Stewart through song. By focusing on some favorite hymns and songs (from our hymnals or from the radio!), we'll explore in small groups what connects us to the holy. This is an opportunity to get to know Rev. Sarah and share your perspectives on First Unitarian with her.
- 7:30 AM - Coffee & Bagels, in the Dining Room
Drop in on your way to work and have breakfast with Rev. Stewart.
- Rev. Steward will be working in the office today, no open events are scheduled.
- 9:30 to Noon - Personal meetings with Rev. Stewart, in the minister's office
This is a great opportunity to sit down with Rev. Stewart privately to say hello. Due to the limited time during candidating week, meeting slots are limited to 15 minutes to enable many congregants to meet with Rev. Stewart. Please contact Donna in the church office to schedule a time. - 12:00 Noon - Brown Bag Lunch at the Church, in the Dining Room

Bring a dish to share and join other members of the congregation for an evening together. Bring the kids, it's movie night! Childcare will be provided.

We will share a light lunch to tide us over for the Congregational Meeting. - 12:15 PM - Special Meeting of the Congregation, in the Sanctuary
All are welcome to witness this historic occasion, but only members may vote.
