Back in November I had announced that we were looking for nominations to join the Settled Minister Search Committee:
Now Accepting Nominations for the Settled Minister Search Committee!Since then we have celebrated the holidays at the darkest time of the year, and said goodbye to our minister. There has been a flurry of activity as we wrap up our pledge campaign and prepare our 2013 annual budget.
It is time for us to identify 11 members to form our Settled Minister Search Committee (SMSC). We are now accepting nominations for the SMSC electronically (email:popinchalk@gmail.com) or by written ballot at the Welcome Table in the Bancroft Room. For all nominations, we would like the name of the nominator, and the nominee. We want the SMSC to be representative of our congregation.
All of these activities have kept us very busy, and we have not given our full attention to the work of identifying and forming the Settled Minister Search Committee. Our original plan was to vote on the SMSC members during the annual meeting; however we are not ready to do it this weekend. For this reason we will delay a vote on the Settled Minister Search Committee until a special meeting of the congregation to be scheduled in the near future. This will give us time to get into communication with the nominees as well as an opportunity to gather input on the process from the UUA.
This will be a topic for further discussion during our Annual Meeting, so please join us this Sunday January 27 for the service, pizza lunch, and our Annual Meeting.
If you have any comments or questions, please feel free to contact me or Scott directly.
